Ayaad Damouni test drives the Mercedes SLS
After coming back to earth from my journey in the Mercedes SLS, life seems far too slow all of a sudden.
The 4 days of pure pleasure I’ve had driving the SLS will live in my heart for many years to come, even dropping to the oh so common level of having my assistant photograph me next to the car – something I don’t usually do.
Now, I have read in some magazines that it’s not as fast as other cars in it’s league but seriously who gives a damn, this vehicle is so sexy, it’s the perfect aphrodisiac.
Not only the 6.3 beast grabbed so much attention wherever I want, but it also made me some new very friendly and loving friends, mainly in the form of the valet guys at Dubai’s best 5 stars hotels – they didn’t even give me a valet ticket but instead remembered me on my return – they spotted me a mile away.
On the inside it was very German simple, neat and straight to the point, every button within easy reach.
The only problem with the car was the most unique feature about it, it’s doors. The suicide doors look great, but they do get hectic at times going in and out of the car.
All in all the car was amazing , it handled beautifully and it sounded amazing with its purring engine – it was truly like nothing anything I have ever driven before.
