The Rake launches in Dubai
Where fads come and go; classics stay.
A simple truth recognized for its brilliance, Pinpoint Media Group has come out with The Rake, a magazine which CEO and Publisher Darren Hodgkin describes as, “…aimed at the mature-minded gentleman who may be disenfranchised by other leading male lifestyle titles.”
The Rake, founded in Singapore 3 years ago, takes inspiration from style icons Cary Grant, Fred Astaire, the Duke of Windsor, and Gianni Agnelli; and seeks to provide its readers a framework for classical, elegant dressing; moreover, conduct and living.
The first issue features Alfed Dunhill’s stunning homes, the ill-fated legacy of the Getty fortune, the history of the Rolls Royce, as well as interviews with master tailor Leonard Logsdali and esteemed watchmaker Maximilian Busser.
“We believe there is a strong niche in the Middle East market for The Rake and are thrilled to launch our first edition, which highlights the best of global elegance and associated lifestyle aspects,” says Managing Director, Dominic Andrews.
The launch, a glamorous black tie event at the One & Only Palm Jumeirah, took place on the 27th of April 2011. The magazine is on sale in all premium book stores and publishing outlets at AED 40.
